Broadside is a not-for-profit cultural organisation based in the southside of Glasgow, dedicated to the support & interrogation of contemporary art practices & related discourses and how they connect to the wider world.
The central thread running through all of Broadside’s activities is an ongoing inquiry into the political—exploring how it relates to and manifests within cultural production.
Broadside functions as a space where artistic practice, theoretical critique, and political inquiry converge, fostering a dialogue within Glasgow’s cultural landscape and beyond.
This is realised through a programme of Curated Exhibitions, Publishing, Events & Discourse.
In addition to the public programme Broadside offers a range of resources and support for artists and cultural practitioners. These include affordable studio space, Archival Resources, and acting as a production hub for Variant Magazine
In between exhibitions the main gallery space is available for hire for meetings, workshops, projects etc. We have tables and chairs available on site. We work on a sliding scale email us at hello@broadside.space for more information.
If you are an unfunded (left) political organisation we offer free space for meetings. Broadside is completely against racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism and classism and will not host any events or organisations that spread or uphold these positions.
Our space is not available to rent for the public presentation of art or design—if you have an idea of something you would like to make public please email and we can start a discussion.
Our main public space is accessed via a street-level door with a small (8cm) step. We have a publicly accessible bathroom at the back of the space however this is up a flight of 4 stairs. If you have any particular access requirements please get in touch via email and we will try our best to accommodate them.
