Killing Corbynism: Zionism’s War on Socialism
Please join us for the Scottish launch of Rebecca Gordon-Nesbitt’s new book Killing Corbynism: Zionism’s War on Socialism. We shall be joined by the author to discuss ways in which the State of Israel intervenes in UK politics, through the prism of Labour’s ‘anti-Semitism crisis’.
Delving into history, Rebecca’s book considers how strategies and tactics developed in Jerusalem stood ready to deflect any challenge to the state’s continued existence and expansion. The target in the case of Corbyn was not just a man but also the movement he inspired. This shameful story implicates parliamentarians, lobbyists, charities, bureaucrats and journalists in the intervention of a foreign state in UK democracy – a state founded on colonisation and genocide. Tactics honed during the Corbyn era persist, with multiple Friends of Israel groups across Scotland and Palestine solidarity activists facing familiar accusations of anti-Semitism. At the event on 30 October, there will be ample opportunity for discussion about the challenges we face and where we go from here.
